The Posh Lunch Club

A friend and I 'borrowed' an idea from the great 'eat like a girl' blog http://eatlikeagirl.com/ and set up our very own posh lunch club. The concept is simple - some of the most wonderful restaurants can be extremely pricey, but a lot of them offer a set lunch, which is more often than not, great value. So far, the posh lunch club has visited Marcus Wareing at The Berkley (old school glamour) and Dinner by Heston B, which was just wow. Heston's in the lead so far, the restaurant is relaxing, the staff charming and the food exceptional. Oh, and the set menu is £28, and the house wine is £20 a bottle. A real bargain for the quality of what is being served up to you. You must have the chocolate wine, a pudding to die for. The posh lunch club wanted to go the The River Cafe next, but it appears they only do their set lunch menu in the winter- boo hiss. I'll be scouting for the next venue over the next few weeks, any recommendations greatly accepted.

Polly Vernon in today's Times : "Fashion is not the great suppressor of otherwise fierce minds. Dressing well - with wit, skill, art even- is a pleasurable, mood-altering, creative thing to do to yourself every day."

Welcome

Welcome and thanks for looking at my blog. You will probably notice sooner rather than later that this is the first blog I have set up, and I don't really have a clue what I'm doing. The main reasons for setting this up are to share my musings as to what's going on right now with you, cool bars, fabulous restaurants, great shops and clothes and also as an outlet for my 'articles' (and I use this word in the loosest possible way), by which I mean my thoughts and opinions on political and current affairs issues that my colleagues and friends don't really want to hear, and that I can't express at the debating society I joined 18 months ago because (ahem) I haven't actually been along once yet. I wanted to get a feel for whether there's an interest out there for this sort of writing, and hope that you enjoy what I've written. If so, tell me and if not, tell me why not! Here we go.........
